October Glossybox Review

Its this time of month again....

So after a few months of going AWOL, its back...

After I came home from a couple stressful meetings yesterday afternoon, I got cheered up, by the sight of the arrival of this months Glossybox.

Its back to its usual pale pink colour of box and its usual packaging, although the sticker, had a little bow on it, letting us know that Glossybox support breast cancer care.

This months theme as DIY Beauty and the little card says the items in the box can be used for an 'indulgent and cosy night in'.

The products this month is amazing for me personally. I love them all and think I will get at least some use out of all of them. The products are

ANATOMICALS- Don't just clean it woman, scrub it body scrub

This is a pink grapefruit scented body scrub, that comes in a 75ml sample. It smells amazing, firstly!! The little exfoliating bits, are a  good size and seem like it would definitely show a difference. As Ive not tried it properly I cant give a full review on it, but from the little bit I tried on my hand, I think it could do as good a job as Soap And Glory scrubs do.
The full size is 200ml and costs only £3.49.

Yves Rocher France- Instant anti-wrinkle moisturiser- Hydra Vegetal

This brand has been in Glossybox before but in the form of a mascara (which i really need to buy a full size of). I hope this product is just as brilliant as the mascara is, I have a lot of expectations for this. I'm slightly too young to be able to say if it does do, what it says. It says on the card that it instantly smooths wrinkles, I don't have any to test this on. But the cream itself, its luxurious moisturising and smells nice.
We got a full size product, which is 30ml and costs £18, so in fact with that one product, I'm getting my moneys worth. Yaaay

Skinetica Anti-Blemish

This is what it exactly says. You just put it on spots to get rid of them within 2-3 days. Its a unique solution for clearing skin of any blemishes, it has no side effects. I have tried this on a small spot I had on my chin yesterday, and today the spot is gone!! So I absolutely love this product, although a downside for me is the smell, its a strong chemical scent, but I shall put up with it.
For 100ml is £6.99, which isn't too bad.

Dr. Jart- Premium Beauty Balm

This cream is amazing, but not in my exact colour! Saying that the 15ml sample will be used by me somehow. It is a highly pigmented, it has an SPF of 40 i incorporated in it and firming agents, as this particular one is aimed to ages 30+ women.
It costs £24 for a 40ml tube, that you can buy at boots.

Sally Hansen- Complete Salon Manicure

This nail varnish has everything!!! I got a beautiful dark maroon colour, that is perfect for this season. It went opaque with 2 coats. It is also a five steps in one bottle!!! It has a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, colour and topcoat in one!! I adore this product, I've seen that there was other colour of polish in other boxes but I love mine.
Its a full sized product worth £6.99

This box has been one of my favourite one, ive had to date. It even beats the july box where i got my HD Brows kit. Everyone should subscribe to glossybox, its well worth it.

Bye guys

MUA Rave

So for a while now, I have been becoming slightly more and more obsessed with make up by the cheap and cheerful brand MUA.

I know most people have probably heard about at least one product by MUA in the recent months. If not, where have you been???

I must admit my collection on MUA products does not reflect my love for the brand, as I have a slight limited budget recently, I haven't been able to buy everything I'm lusting after.

Although recently I have bought a couple of their single eye shadows in a couple of colours I would never normally buy, but I have a look in my head that I want to do a look on and make a further blog on it.
But i also have their very affordable gel eyeliners. I have them in black and grey, I absolutely love these, I'm a sucker for eyeliner and always trying the new ones on the high street stores. I also have the undressed palette, which I use pretty much everyday. Best £4 i have ever spent on make up. I have also recently picked up one of the new cream blushes and one of the normal £1 blushes but in one of the newer colours.

Also another one of my favourites from this brand is their £2 extreme volume mascara I got a while ago, which is insanely amazing on my lashes and it doesn't blow the bank balance. One of the first products I ever got from MUA, along with my matte foundation I got for £2. The matte foundation gives a medium to high coverage and its buildable!! It goes on nice and creamy and blends in beautifully.

Another must have product from MUA for me is their £1 lipsticks that come in various colours of red, pink, nude and orange. The lipstick iself is a nice consisency and its creamy enough to go on smooth and it lasts a long time. Good quality for only £1. I'm a sucker for shade 3, thats a hot pink colour, I think it has a hint of blue undertones in it. But it suits my pale skin. Easy for a pop of colour, also amazing, if you just want to try a new colour of lip. The ones im lusting after is shade 1, shade 8, shade 10 and shade 13, these are the shades I most want for this current autumn season. They also have just recently brought out some lovely lip liners in red and pink tones.

A few of my most wanted items from MUA are the nail constellations in Leo, Libra and Scorpio (a nice christmassy blend of colours). The nail constellations are a high street and more affordable take on the Ciate Caviar Manicure, which i have never had as the price of it is insane for me. The MUA ones are a purse friendly £3, but the slight drawback is that you don't get a matching nail polish with it in a set, but you can always get an MUA nail varnish for £1 which is still a lot less than the Ciate version.

from l-r gemini, leo, pieces, scorpio and Libra
Another of my wishlist items are the mega volume mascara and the brow kit. Both of which I have seen getting some amazing reviews. I can not wait till i can have a splurge in MUA, hopefully soon, as they keep bringing out more products every month and I seem to want to try all of them.
The one thing I think would be amazing if they brought out, is a range of makeup brushes. One can hope that these are maybe in the pipeline.

You can buy the normal £1 products in most superdrugs, which normally include, some eyeshadows, lipsticks, eyeliners and some blush and face powder. Or if you go to the larger superdrugs, you can normally find a larger selection, but not always!! Or if you have no superdrugs near you, you can browse the whole range online (MUA store) They also ship internationally and if you like them on facebook (MUAmakeupacademy) and we get to 35k likes there will be a offer for cheaper make up or free delivery, also follow them on twitter for up to date updates on make and lots of fun things (muacosmetics)

Thanks for reading guys

Insurgent book Review. October book challenge

Veronica Roth, Divergent trilogy -Insurgent

So at the end of my second week in Book a week October, I have completed Insurgent finally.
I have mixed feelings about it, as there is lots of good points and bad points about the book. The majority of what i think is good, but i think it could have been better.
For the most part i enjoyed it, but i think it could have had less anti-climaxes in it towards the end of the book. It felt a little unfinished to me, there was no moment where i felt this is it. It was just one twist after another.
Although the final twist in the story is the main one and it was one i had already assumed would happen, once the character was introduced.
I did love it though, was my final opinion on the book, but its the one final twist, that has me itching for the final book in the series by Veronica Roth.
It carried on straight, where it left in the first book of the series 'Divergent' which is a book I love!!
This series i cant recommend it enough to people who are fans of the hunger games and books set in a futuristic world.

BLURB
"Tris has survived a brutal attack on her former home and family. But she has paid a terrible price. Wracked by grief and guilt, she becomes ever more reckless as she struggles to accept her new future.
Yet if Tris wants to uncover the truth about her world, she must be stronger  than ever... because more shocking choices and sacrifices lie ahead."

This week I will be reading Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. It is another futuristic novel. I seem to be into this genre of books to read recently.

Update on the October book challenge!

So last week I decided to do a book challenge and this is the first of a few updates on it.
Last week I read 'the perk of being a wallflower' by Simon Chbosky. It's not the longest of books but it is incredibly written.
I just couldn't put it down and read it within a couple of nights of reading it.
The story is a page turner as the story was a light but gripping story of a young lad Charlie who in the beginning is a shy and unpopular kid that you see grow by a series of letters to an anonymous reader. Throughout the story you get introduced to Charlie's friends and teacher. The story talks about Charlie being introvert and an unconventional thinker, who goes through therapy to help him with deal with these issues.
All in all I loved the book from cover to cover and I can't wait until I go see it at the cinema.
BLURB
" Charlie is a freshman. And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward he is a wallflwower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it. Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex drugs and the rocky horror picture show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But Charlie cant stay in the sideline forever, standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor."

Book geek! Oct edition

I've decided to challenge myself this month to read 4 books in 4 weeks. I must say I did get the idea from Carrie fletcher. So this is a little blog to say what books I will be reading this month a hopefully I will continue this new monthly post.
The first book I will read is 'perks of being a wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky.
Next is going to be 'Insurgent' by Veronica Roth, then 'Uglies' by Scott Westerfeld and lastly is the new book by J.K Rowling 'The casual vacancy'
I'm mostly excited to read J.K Rowling's new book as I've always been a huge Harry Potter fan and live her style of writing.
Hope you are all well and should this challenge.
