Update on life

Hey Guys,

Sorry about taking a long as heck, break from blogging. Life got in the way, people demanded all my time and slowly but surely lost myself with everything going on.

So lets iron out the kinks and bumps that I had in the road, to where I am now.

I ended up being let down, by the person I gave my heart too. I did suffer a mild altercation, with him, that did take a lot for me to stand up to him and break up. In my mind I know I done whats right for me and what I will always say it was right. I might get into it further in another post.

I was working for a well known bargain store, that then let me down in the fact that I got let go because I didnt get on well with the manager. I felt gutted about it, as I had made so many great friends there and I didn't want to miss working with them, which I do. But life goes on and I now work for Boots, which is crazy busy this time of year, but I get to work with the self selection make up every single day. Lets be honest its a beauty bloggers dream. I love it. Even though its just a christmas temp job.

Lastly, I am happy to say, I have been able to fix a lot of old friendships, that I managed to burn, or fall apart from. So at least I can say a few good things have came out of a few heartaches and misery.

I do have a few post planned, so hopefully I should be able to get them done depending on time.

Beauty Haul. May Edition

Hey Guys,

This is the second half of my beauty haul.

I'm going to start with the four purple lipsticks, I seem to have accumulated. I have recently bought my first Models Own Colour Lip-Stix, in the purple shade, there is no name on it, so I will have to insert it later. This cost just £5. Another one I got is the MUA in Lilac Belle, which obviously cost £1 and is Matte. I have also bought the Little Mix for Collection in Perrie which is around £3. Away on the other side of the scale is the Revlon Matte Balm in Desinvolte which was around £7.99

The Pink lipsticks I have picked up are Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in shade 5 Ole Flamingo, cost £9, Collection Sweet Tart, £2.99 this is a fairly bright pink, which will be great for everyday wear. Collection Cream Puff in the shade cotton candy, a nice matte lip cream. I have also finnaly got my hands on a Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 110, which is a bright pinky coral shade, which cost around £4 on a boots deal.

The last few lipsticks I have recently bought are a sheer orange lipstick by Revlon which cost £7.99 and is in the shade carnival spirit. I also grabbed a few others of the Little Mix for Collection Lipsticks in the shades Jade which is a gorgeous muted nude colour and Jesy which is a vibrant red colour.

Finally something that isn't lips related, I have gotten some of the new Kate Moss eye collection, In fact I got the emerald Green Gel eyeliner ( which is stunning on), a couple of the eye crayons, in rose gold and Electric Sapphire. Lastly from her collection I got the Rocking Curves Mascara, but just in the very black colour.

Finally the last few things are my holy grail concealer the Collection lasting perfections concealer in 1 fair, Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Pink Blossom and the Maybelline Go Colossal Extreme Volum' mascara.

Phew that is a massive haul. I do plan on doing some reviews on the products, hopefully some time will be freed up and I can start blogging properly again.

Glossybox May 2014 Superdrug turns 50 collab

Hey Guys,

This months Glossybox, was a very nice surprise. Firstly I somehow managed to buy two boxes. Don't ask, trying to update your payment method before a 8am start, it didn't work well for my bank.

That being said I have 2 very different boxes to show you guys.

In my normal box I got, Max factor Facefinity All Day Primer (£10.99, full size), Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascara in very black (£4.99, full size), 2 true PRO 3D Candy Nail Art (£3 full size), B. Sheer Conditioning Lipstick in Petal (£6.99 full size) and Vaseline Spray and Go Coco (£4.99, full size).
This box is my favourite, it is all full sizes and I was very excited about everything when I seen what was inside. I have always been wanting to try some of the B. cosmetics, as I have tried their Miscellar water, so the lipstick was very interesting to me. Box cost roughly £30

On the same day  I had to wizz down to the post office to collect the other box, that had came the previous day, but I was at work.

So in this box, I got: Scholl Velvet Smooth Night Mask, (£7.99 full size), Collection Bronze Glow bronzer (£2.99 full size), I love, Strawberries& milkshake lipgloss ( £1.29 full size) B. Complete Nail Polish in Quartz (£4.99 full size) and finally Blow Pro After Blow (Hairspray and sample size). Box cost nearly £20.

In both boxes I got 2 samples of Garnier Oil beauty lotion and a perfume sample of Ghost Eclipse.

Both of these boxes have got some really good things in them and I do look forward to using and testing them out. Be sure to look out for some reviews on some of them.

Beauty Haul: Nails Edition

Hey Guys,

This is a long time coming, I have been doing a lot of shopping recently and have accumulated a fair amount of stuff, that I want to show you all. I did think about doing a video on youtube, but chickened out.

I'm going to begin with my first little splurge on nail products. Then the rest should be in another post as I seem to have gotten a large amount of nail things.

First of all from my work.
I kind of got a stash of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish strips. I have six of them in total as, I tried a set out and fell in love with them. So I pretty much got one of each kind that my work had.
I got 2 of the french Mani ones in Polka Party 006 and Silver Lining 002. Both of which are like normal french manicure but with a twist in the tips which are a bit different from the norm. Which I love.
I also got Animal Instinct 440(Pink zebra), Tweed-Le-Dee 550 (grey tartan), I Love Lacey 480 (red based with a lace over lay.) and Check Please 235 ( Black and White check). These cost be a mere £1 in Bargain Buys.

Another thing I got at Bargain Buys and another Sally Hansen product, that I seem to have just went gaga over. I bought 3 in one day without even trying them out. The Sally Hansen complete manicure Glitters. I think these were from the Christmas range as these have some very Christmas feeling names. I have 20 Fa-La-La-Lavender, 30 3,2, 1derland and 40 Midnight Glitz. These are all a clear base with loads of sparkle.

The last few things from my work is a nail rock glitter thing, that has a polish and a glitter to push into it. Lastly is a NYC glitter top coat in Gramercy Glitz. These also cost £1.

A random purchase from Boots is the Models Own Matte Topcoat, that cost £5. Another polish I bought from Boots is the Rimmel Salon Pro Kate collection polish in Punk Rock 711.

From Claire's Accessory I bought a few polishes. These all vary in price, but I got mine from the Claire's discount outlet in Livingston. I got Frost bite, a blue and white glitter strand top coat. School day, a black and white small glitter top coat, Shiver a light blue, white and silver nearly iridescent top coat. I also got Hundreds and Thousands, coral splatter effect and a white neon
green. These all range from £2.50-£3.50.

Lastly and just the other day, I was browsing in Next, when I came across their own brand nail polish and fell in love instantly. I got 3 glitters, as I seem to be becoming a major magpie. I got one of the " Bling Top Coat" in Golden ticket, which is a clear top coat and has flecks of different coloured gold, from rose gold and yellow golden. I also got a "Holographic Glitter" in Night Fever and a " Matte Glitter" in Pixelated Purple. These cost £3 each and look absolute gorgeous. I can not wait to test these out.

I will do proper reviews on these in the near future.

What polishes have you bought recently and any that I should try?

Until next time

Nail of the day. 23/4/14

Hey Guys,

Thought I would show you what I have on my nails today. I've went a bit mint/pastel green crazy over the past week or so.

So I have the Ps Love nail polish on in the mint green colour £1 from Primark, on top of that I have the matte effect top coat also £1 from Primark, I have done a pink glitter accent nail which is Birthday by Barry M for superdrugs 50th anniversary. Which is a beautiful pink based pink white and purple glitter. Then lastly I threw on some of NYC Disco Inferno top coat on my thumbs just to jazz up the matte effect on my nails.

I really like this look and one can not have enough glitter on my nails.

Bye Guys

Pink Velvetine Lime Crime Review

Hey guys,

Yes  I know I am very late to the bandwagon on these little beauties. But there is  just sometimes, I couldn't really splurge on these. I have only got the pink velvetine at present, but I have been eyeing up the black and the new dark red one from the new collection of them.

The Lowdown.
I got mine from amazon, I somehow ended up with a freebie, when I was buying some Wet N Wild lipsticks. Not that I am complaining. But these do usually cost around £14 from various places, like cutecosmetics or you can just type it into google and list of places will have them.

The Good.
Amazing pigmentation
Non Drying
Non Sticky
It dries almost immediately
lasts a long time
You can touch it up and it doesn't bump or crumble the rest of the lips.
Smells delicious
Cute Packaging

The Bad
I am yet to find a fault with this.
Although there are limited colours, I would love a dark pink a nude and a purple please.

Summary
I would repurchase this and as I say I have been eyeing up a few more colours. But I would love to see a better colour range of these. I have also found a couple of dupes for these but I am not sure they are up to the same standards as these are.

Models Own Speckled Eggs Nail Polish Review

Hey Guys,

Another little review on the old nail polish. I wasn't kidding when I said that I had replenished my whole collection. This is one of the currenly newish collections from Models Own. I'm sure it is called the speckled eggs collection. So my nails will look like the cadburys mini eggs, sort of. The colour range of these is obviously limited to 5 shades I think, they are all pastel colours with black specks in it. These cost £5 and are available from Boots, Superdrug and the Models own website

The good
Quick drying time
Great Easter look for nails.
great pastel colours
Good pigmentation and lots of specks of different sizes come out
They have cute names and do look similar to the eggs of the bird name that they have.

The Bad
Can chip easily without a top coat.
Not easily wearable any time of the year other than easter

Summary
This polish is a beauty, I do love it. Not sure if I would wear it at any other time of the year since it does look like mini eggs on my fingers. I do love the cute pastel colours that these come in. I like the formula and everything about the polish, so it makes me want to get more of the Models Own nail polish.

Whats your favourite nail polish by models own, recommend me some and I will check them out and wlll get back to every comment I get.

Nail of the day. Primark Fake nails

Hey Guys.

This is just a quick post showing you what is on my nails.

I bought, these spots and kitties fake nails from primark a while back. They went on like a dream, although a more consistent sizing would be better.
I used my own Nailene ultra quick glue to stick them on. I do love how these look on and would urge everyone to try the Primark fake nails.

George At Asda Gel Pro nail polish Review

Hey guys,

So a little about these polishes at first. I have these in a few different colours, so that may let you in to how I feel about these wonders. I have noticed Gel formula polishes are becoming some what big news on the high street and every brand is doing their own version. I being the cosmetics junkie that I am, have made it my business to get at least one from every brand and try them out. It is bliming expensive, but I am begining to have such a massive nail polish collection again. Yaay?

The Lowdown

These little beauties come in a range of shades, they are around £3 and can be bought in everyone's local supermarket. Asda and can be bought online on their website.

The Good
Cheap
Great opaqueness
Come in a variety of colours
Good consistancy

The Bad
The brush is horrible
chips easily ( could just be my jobs fault at this though!)

Summary
I love these, they are a great fairly cheap alternative and who needs a polish to last 14 days anyway. These last long enough for me, as I like switching my nail colour about so often. I don't tend to use a top coat, I don't know why, but I am too lazy to have to wait for a top coat to dry.

Would I repurchase.
Yes I would, I have 3 of these and plan on getting a nice blue and perhaps a green if they have them. They come in a great variety of colours, I have a dark maroon red colour and 2 peachy coral colours.

Glossybox April 2014: Review

Hey Guys,

This will be my April edition of reviewing the Glossybox. Thankfully this one arrived well before I assumed it would, it arrived before 9am on the 13th, good start.

The box itself had the theme sweet treats. I will go through what I got, then tell you what I think.

Emite Make up- Lip Brush- L312 (£17)
This looks like a lovely slanted lip brush, although i may use it for my eyebrows.

Monu spa Warming ginger massage and body oil ( full size 100ml £25)
This is a sample size, 30ml so that is roughly £7.50 worth as a sample. Good sample size and it smells gorgeous.

MeMeMe Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Tint- Cupids Kiss (£5.50 full size)
This is another full sized product, Iam already not keen on this. Not enough pigment for my liking and defo not a proper dupe for the benetints.

TRESemme Instant Befresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo (£4.99 for 200ml)
This is a travel sized can, so it is a not bad sample to get at this time of year. I am looking forward to trying this, as I recently cut my hair so this will help on those days where I have no time to wash my hair.

QV Skincare Gentle Wash (£6.06 for 250ml)
I have not heard of this brand before, so I am looking forward to trying this. Im not sure what sample size it is as it says on the bottle 15g.

This box is better than last months box, it is worth roughlyb £35 which is a massive step up from last months. I do look forward to testing the products apart from the MeMeMe product.

What are your boxes like this month? Let me know in the comments and I will be sure to get back to you all.

P.S Love Your Nails- Nail Polish Twist Pot Instant Removal Review

Hey Guys,

So instead of a nail polish review I thought I would do a remover review. This one is from Primark and cost £1. It is similar in style to the Bourjois pot and the Nails Inc, both of which are a lot more expensive than this Primark version.

The Lowdown.
They cost £1 from Primarks, up and down the UK and maybe the other Primarks. It is a black tub with presoaked sponge inside that you put your nail in and twist it around and it gets off the nail polish.

The Good.
Cheap
Easy to use
Good Value for money.
Gets off most nail polish

The Bad.
The sponge bits, has decided to come out of mine, small bit by small bit.
A bit too much nail polish remover in the pot as it spills out a bit.
Doesn't get glitter polish off

Summary.
I love this little pot as it removes nail polish easily and quickly. Although it doesn't remove glitter polish, but that is totally fine by me. I will eventually get the other ones to test out as well, but for £1 and if you are curious by the pots of nail varnish remover, then why not pick one of these up.

Whats your favourite nail polish remover? Which one should I try next? Leave a comment and I will get back to you.

Claire's Accessories Scatter Nail Polish Review

Hey Guys,

Another nail polish review for you all. I do promise I have other things to review, but this is just a wee quicky as a fellow blogger has let me borrow some of the other colours to show you of this particular brand of nail polish. When you think of Claire's Accessories you don't always think of nails and beauty things. But this polish is definitely a winner. You can buy them here

The Lowdown.
These polishes you can only get from either in store or on the Claire's Accessories, they are currently on sale for £1 and there are plenty more colours. Than the 4 I have here swatched for you. The polish has a mixture of white and black glitter, strands and large particles within the base colour. I have pink splatter, blue splatter, green splatter and orange splatter, they are all swatched on a milky coloured nail polish base, except the pinky, which has the pink on its own.
without flash.

The good.
Great variations with glitter chunks.
Good selection of colours available.
Cheap
Last a long time with a top coat

With flash.
with flash

The Bad
The base colour does not come out as pigmented as you would have thought.
It only being available in Claire's, it would be good if it was available in more stores.

Summary.
I love these polishes, so much so that I have just put an order in to Claire's Accessories, online store. Although I do wear a white nail polish underneath them, but it is totally worth it as they are gorgeous. I am in love with the orange one and the pink one. As they go nearly neon.

Have you tried these? What do you think of these? Is the splatter effect for nails a trend? Let me know in the comments.

Some places to find some high street make up for £1

Hey Guys,

As you should all be aware I love to get the most for my pounds. Lately I have been scouring the high street bargain shops, to check out what sort of beauty finds are out there.

As I work in discount Uk, I have seen the likes of Revlon nail polish, rimmel nail polish and O.P.I nail crackle effects go for around a £1. Bargain, right.

This has obviously spurred on this post. I have been to a few other bargain buys stores to see what I could find. Luckily I think my shop has the best bits in at the minute and since we get our delivery on a Wednesday, I can always have a wee look to see which brand of polish it is for the week. In the few weeks I've worked there I have seen Sally Hansen both the Instadry and the suger coat versions, Rimmel lasting finish Pro and Revlon scented and colourstay versions. There has also been a small selection of Wet n Wild products that have came in, mainly a mineral powder and some spoiled named nail polish.

I have also spotted a large selection of eyelashes, both high street branded and some random brands I have never heard of. I have picked up some Katy Perry ones by Eyelure at my work.

There is also a large selection of haircare, skincare and bodycare items available, from big named brands such as Naked (sold at boots), nivea, Garnier, clean and clear, the list is endless.

I would say next time, you go past one of the well known discount stores, go in and have a look at the beauty aisle, you may just be surprised at what you may find. I will try do a weekly or bi-weekly post on the new beauty bits I find in discount Uk ( the name might be changing.)

Marion

Ps guys will be doing a haul in the next few days of the bits I have picked up from my work.

P.S Love Primark Eyeshadow Palette

Hey guys

Sorry for lack of posts of late. I hoped I would be able to get some written and space them out, but things keep cropping up which is driving me insane, as I miss blogging.

Whilst I was through in Glasgow, I popped into Primark, on a whim that they would have the eyeshadow palettes in. Which luckily for me they did, but not the one I was hoping to get and blog about. So I am now the proud owner of the Day Palette. Ok not so much proud. But I will get to that in a mo. I was hoping to get the night palette.

The Lowdown.

This is a 8 eyeshadow palette, neutral colours, mostly sparkley and satin finish. It costs £2.50 and is packaged in a not so sleek black case.

The Good Points.
Good sized mirror in the palette.
Great Range of colours.
Cheap
Some have nice pigmentation

The Bad Points.
Bulky packaging, not good when trying to compact make up.
Some shadows have very little Pigmentation

Would I repurchase?
Yes I would probably repurchase these shadows from Primark, they do have a nice formua.

Other Comments.
These are a great starter into eyeshadows, although there are a lot better ones on the market and on the high street, but these are still good for maybe the tween aged girls, who just want to play around with make up and with there not being that much colour pay off they could be a good one for school make up, as they give off the same confidence boost as more expensive eyeshadows do. The darker colours have more pigmentation and do a great day look with an added slick of eyeliner and a colour pop lipstick.

Hope this helps everyone. What are your thoughts on these eyeshadows? Let me know in the comments.

Yashin Glasgow Stereo Gig

Hey Guys,

Sorry I haven't updated much recently. Getting the new job and working my butt off and trying to spend time with loved ones, takes up all of my time.

But obviously I have managed to squeeze in a wee gig, of my beloved band Yashin. I bought myself and a bestie some tickets for her birthday. This is maybe the third birthday in a row I have taken her to see them. But we both love them and we have even met them. I did blog about that too.

The band are from Glasgow, with the exception of the lead singer who is from Florida/ Isle of Man. The band consists of Harry Radford, Kevin Miles, Connor MacLeod, Andy McShane, Paul Travers and Dave Beaton. This is maybe the 3/4th time of seeing them play live. The support was a band I have already forgotten their name and Idivide, which I will have to look more into.

Every time I have seen Yashin play, you get to see the raw passion that these 5 guys have for music and how much love they get from the fans. This gig was no different. From playing old material to the few new songs, that they have released. They also have a new album getting released hopefully soon. This intimate gig was for the release of new songs Lady Carousel and D.E.A.D, both of which are incredible. I always enjoy hearing the latest offerings from these guys.

The gig was amazing and will always be in my memory bank. The guys know how to put on a epic gig. Lots of crowd surfing and movement. Also Harry getting into the crowd and singing SOS, whilst sitting down amongst the crowd. They also played a song right at the end, where it has gotten me through so many hard lonely nights a couple of years ago, so I did well up a bit. But being at the front the whole night, ensured I got some amazing pictures and some videos. I also got to sing into Kev's microphone, what is not to love about the gig.

Thank you Yashin, for being a band and always being so incredible to your fans, you connect with the fans in such a special way and I feel like I do have a  unique bond with you guys for writing some of the most played songs on my ipod, which I do always turn too when I need a wee pick me up. I can not wait for the new album and to see you play live again very soon.

Barry M Aquarium review.

Hey girls,

Another nail post this week. Sorry about all of these nails posts, but I have a cold sore, so cant really show you good pictures of lipsticks and new lip products I have recently got. Which is a bummer to me, as I am a complete lip maniac.

Back on to this post. Barry M have been on form recently with their new nail products. I recently have bought a load of new nail stuff from Barry M. I can't seem to stop buying new colours and types of finish. So keep a look out for posts on them.

Aquarium, is a collect full of duochrome nail paints, there is also 2 glitter top coats. I recently seen them in my local Superdrug and seen they had a deal on them. Buy 2 polishes for £6, which I snapped up, otherwise they are normally £3.99 each.

I got Mermaid which is a blue, green and gold chunky glitter in a clear base, this will make a gorgeous top coat for dark coloured nail varnish and I can not wait to test it out. I also got Pacific, which is a green, blue oil slick colour, it is gorgeous. Its more like a teal in the bottle, but in different lights it is different colours. It kept me amused for a while at work. Its a beautiful polish. Although the swatch is not doing it justice. So I will take a picture next time it is on my nails.

These last a long time and managed to go unscathed whilst I was on the tills at work. I love these and might indulge my lust for them and buy the rest of them.

Marion

Rimmel: Lasting Finish Colour Rush Lip Pencil

Hey Guys,

This is finally a lip post. I have been missing doing posts about lip products, dang cold sore.

But I have came up with a way  to swatch them well enough, for a post.

Back to the post.

I was only really interested in these as the Rita Ora ones have just came out. Which I do plan on getting some of her nail polishes, when I get paid. But being a lip addict, I had to get one of the lip pencils. I got the bright shade called Boom Chick A Boom. I absolutely love this colour, I go for every lipstick in this sort of bright pink shade. I also got The Redder the Better shade, which is a lovely classic red.

These lip balms are very moisturising and nourishing on the lips, which I love. They are light and go on smoothly, with an even pigmentation. I now just need to buy the collection fully of the colours I love.

I got these from Superdrug as they were on a buy one, get half off. So I obviously got 2. These cost £5.99 each and I got them for £8.99 for 2 so not too bad. Definitely worth it.

GlossyBox March 2014 Box Review

Hey guys,

Before we get started I'm so sorry about how negative this post may become.

I received my box yesterday and couldn't even try to write a post on it. But now I have had a rethink about what I got, its still not amazing. But there is at least 2 things I will enjoy.

Mitchell and Peach Body Cream (£36 for 180ml)
We got a small sample of this (40ml), it smells like something my Gran would put on herself. Its not a scent I like. It has shea butter, cocoa butter and honey in the ingredients, along with lavender and rose. So this smells odd to me.

Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish (£4.49 for 10ml)
I got this in the colour of Monte Carlo, which is a beautiful pink colour. The balm its self gives off a subtle pink on the lips.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder ( £12 for 2.35g)
I got this in the colour of Coral Reef, which swatches a beautiful peach golden colour. It is a multi use product, as you can use on your eyes and cheeks. I wasn't too excited about this product, as its too shimmery to be used as a blush and it won't suit my colouring as a highlight and I have not worn peach on my eyes since my school days.

Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 week tan lotion. ( £37.50 for 150 ml)
This came in 2 small foil packets, so I am not sure how testing this is going to work. Do I just tan one small area of my body? This you can get free at a counter in store.
s
Dove Hair Treatment Intensive Repair 60 Second Treatment Shot. ( £1.49 for 15ml)
This is a deep condition treatment for the hair, which I am excited to try as I love these sort of things.

This box was nothing special, yeah it has 2 products I am happy to test out, the hair treatment and lip conditioner. I am really disappointed in this box. I may even unsubscribe.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick Review

Hey there Guys,

I have just gotten around to doing this review, although I have had this lipstick since maybe late Jan. But I do have a lot of lipsticks, that are all fairly new and needed tried and tested. Until the other day when I pulled it out and wore it.

I have got Cat Fight shade in the new-ish Urban Decay Lipsticks. Its fuchsia, with a slight cool undertone although on me its looks bright fuchsia, as I am so pale. It's a colour, that I absolutely love to wear and wear this sort of colour daily, when not in work. These cost £15 from Urban Decay, Debenhams and House of Fraser.

Pro's
This lipstick is creamy smooth and so highly pigmented. It finishes in a sheen, but not like the MAC creme sheen, so much more pigmented.

Con's
The only downfall for this lipstick is that it feathers on me. I know I could wear a lipliner, but I prefer not to have too. So in theory it is my own fault.

I love this lipstick and I do plan on getting more of the collection.

Have you's got any of the shades? What do you think of them?

Marion.

I will post a lip swatch later, as I have a cold sore atm.
