Festive Glossybox: December Edition

So its this time a month, when people either hate or love their glossybox.

For the past few months, I've not blogged about mine as I wasn't too pleased about the things I had received in the boxes. I also wanted my blog to be a happy place where I don't slate things, so I thought for the best I just wouldn't blog about them.
But this month, it has changed not only was the box a festive shade of silver, the products are actually good enough to want to write about it.

Bejewelled Christmas Glossybox Included:

Inspiration By Seche

Seche Nail Lacquer
Glossybox say:Highly pigmented colour for one coat coverage, satin smooth application dries quickly. Available in 33 fashion forward shades.
The colour I got is 'Inspiration' its a pinky coral colour. Which to me looks kinda cheap on my nails. But it could look amazing on darker coloured skin or on tanned skins. Its a full sized bottle we got in this months Glossybox, 14ml and it cost £9.95, from the overall feel from other people who got the box, there is a few colours floating around as a friend of mine got a slate grey colour, which I would have preferred.

                                           Rituals- Magic Touch
Glossybox says: We are proud to feature a Rituals bestseller: Magic Touch, an ultra-rich whipped body cream that intensively nourishesand firms th skin. Combining rice milk, antioxidants, the indulgent fragrance of cherry blossom and velvety smooth texture. Price 200ml-£15. The 70ml sample we got is worth £5.
I'm not a huge fan of body butters, as they leave my skin feeling sticky which Im not a fan of. But I will most definitely be trying this one out, as I love the smell of Cherry Blossom.

Lemon by Mary Greenwell Eau de Parfum
Glossybox says- What we love most about LEMON is that unlike most citrus fragrances, the fresh citrus notes last on the skin. Price of this varies the full size is 100ml and costs £90, 50ml- £60, Purse spray- £30.
This does smell nice and fruity, but I don't think Id buy it just because of the price. Im sure there are probably similar ones out there for less.

Sebamed Anti-Dry Night Intensive Cream
Glossybox says- All products in the Sebamed range are pH neutral and contain high-quality active ingredients, which cleanse and nourish the skin without attacking the skins natural protective mantle. Sebamed protects the skin, calms flare-ups and restores equilibrium for improved elasticity- the perfect companion for these cold winter months. Full size is 50ml £9.99
I love, love, love this product. I tried this the first night I received the box. I woke up with the softest feeling skin in the world. I'm most definitely going to buy the day cream and the night cream. I would recommend this to anyone, who suffers from dry skin.

Sleek MakeUp True Colour Lipstick
Amped True Colour Lipstick
Glossybox says- With shades that brighten and flatter your skin tone (essential during the winter months when complexions can be dull) and vitamin E enriched formulas, Sleek MakeUps true colour lipstick range is a party season essential. Full size: 3.5g-£4.99
I freaking love this product. I have been pondering for a while now weather to try some of the sleek lip products, as they are more known for the eyeshadow palletes. The colour was AMPED, which is a matte finish blue toned bright pink. Think Nicki Minaj style pink. But I do love it and may get some more.

Also this month, we got a free bonus gift of an own brand glossybox blusher.
Glossybox Blusher in Glossy Pink
Glossybox says- A colour intensive powder blush, velvety feeling with long-lasting colour that flatters all skintones. I must admit I got a bit excited about it, as I am always on the hunt for the next best thing in blusher land.

I must admit this has been my favourite glossybox in a while, but its even better when I got to pay for this using my glossydots.

Anyway guys thats all for this post, I shall see yall in the next one.

London Baby

Hey guys

People who know me personally, know I am always wanting to go explore new places.

Last weekend the 8th and 9th of December  myself and a friend went to london, to go to a gig, (blog on that here). As we were both slightly skint, we tried to do everything cheaply or fairly cheap. Which for those who have been to london, know that is difficult. Even more so, when you try spend Scottish notes as they are different from the English paper money.

We left Edinburgh excitedly on a megabus on the Friday night, which meant an uncomfortable sleep on a bus. I cant actually remember much of the journey down as I for one was fast asleep within the first 20 minutes of us leaving the bus station. I had some awkward dreams on the bus due to watching aircraft investigations with my brother before leaving the house.

We arrived in London Victoria Station at around 7:30 in the morning and it has to be said I was sitting on the bus awake from the minute i started seeing the bright lights of the city. As i've never been to London ever, let alone when all the Christmas lights are up. I pretty much had saucers for eyes by time we got to the station. The first thing we done when we got off the bus as find somewhere for coffee and a tea!!

Then we headed up to oxford street for some retail browsing, but I must admit, I struggled to find anything that I hadn't already seen in Edinburgh. Although I did find some Jeffery Campbell style shoes in Primark, I just had to try them on. They were blue Mary Jane style shoes without the heel, they were surprisingly rather easy to walk in, which I find bizarre as I had already tried on the Schuh version of them and couldn't move in them!!

After shopping for a couple of hours, which was about as much as our weary little bodies could handle. Then got on to the biggest struggle we had down there, was finding the hotel. Google maps took as totally the wrong way, but we got to see the sights of Ealing. Oh and a dead fox!!!! Which slightly put me off ealing. When we finally found the hotel it was roughly 10 minute straight walk from the Ealing Broadway station.

We lazed about the hotel for the afternoon and then started to get ready for the gig. Since I have a load of aches and pains, I pretty much feel like a wee auld granny. I had to take full advantage of the bath. Just gutted I didnt take any lush bathbombs with me!! But at least I know for next time eh.

We got to the gig for me and Tian fairly late, but as the venue is that big it took roughly 2 hours for the full capacity to be inside it. Which was insane!! The gig itself was incredible and full of British talent, You Me At Six, Deaf Havana and We Are The Ocean. After the gig I think we were both a little tired as we both nearly passed out, medical reasons for Tian and kinda the same for me as i've been off my food a lot recently. But yeah we were both hoping to go out and experience the London nightlife. Hopefully next time though.

On the Sunday we had a chilled out day and just spent the morning in the hotel. Then spent the afternoon in a weatherspoons. Which was horrible, the staff had not been trained properly and couldn't even smile at customers. They also served cold food and and then didn't bring back the proper stuff back to the table. So I had basically spent £3.30 on some soup covered bread!! I know London is known for the expensiveness of it, but that is a bit steep. Then to make matters worse fellow customers were rude and obnoxious  Someone even asked for the table that we were clearly using and then got extremely ungreatful when we moved the stuff onto a small table to give them it. London people really do have no manners!! It is common knowledge that you dont stare at people and say thank you!

Any way on the way home on the bus we got to see the pretty lights in Hyde Park, which looked stunning. Wish I had spare time to actually go there. Always next time though! I didn't really get many pictures of London itself as I was trying to save battery.

Have any of you been to London, what was your experience like?

Bye guys

xx

Favorite Christmas Films

Hey Guys,

This is going to be the first of a few christmassy type posts, that I'm going to do. And as you can tell from the title this one is on films.

At this time of year the TV is always jam packed with all the christmas type of movies.Quite recently I had to go buy some of my favourite films on DVD.
After asking a few of my friends they all seem to say ELF is their favourite film. Although i do think it is a good film, I do think there is better ones out there.

Some of my favourites are:
Home Alone & Home Alone 2
Always loved these since I seen them as a kid. I kinda always dreamt that one day Id get left home alone.

The Polar Express
One of my favourite animated films let alone, Christmas films. The film also has one of the cutest message to give to kids that i love. The film itself is about a train that is going to the North Pole to go visit Santa before he leaves on Christmas eve to give out the presents.

Bad Santa
Is the more grown up Christmas movie, I think its rated a 15, so it does have some parental concerns. Its about a guy who is a bad guy who likes to play Santa Claus at shopping centres and then on Christmas eve along with his friend who plays Santa's elf steal from the shopping centre. Until one year the shopping centre manager is onto them and it all kicks off from there.

The Grinch
Is another one of my ultimate faves at this time of year. Partly because it reminds me a lot of me and how I'm not the Christmas type of person. Partly because it is the one film my four year old nephew wont watch as he is scared of the Grinch.

All films are available from both amazon and HMV

What films do you like to watch at this time of year?

MUA - Brushes

So guys....

Its that time again when MUA bring out some new products and I have to say, They have done it again.

They have brought out a new range for the Pro Range, but this time it isnt make up but its brushes they have brought out.

They have a full range of eye brushes face brushes and a lip brush. Although I only got a few to try them out.

The brushes I got were

Concealer brush F3 MUA says: The rounded flat shape makes this brush ideal to conceal the under the eye area for the precision application and blending of all concealer formulas.
It works well with the size of my eyes and blends in creamy concealers perfectly. Ive not tried it with any other type of concealers yet though. It could also double up as a eyeshadow brush.

Foundation Blending Brush F2 MUA says: A flat topped, full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of any foundations. Ideal for creating soft layers or adding textures to the skin.
This brush didnt work well with my normal Urban Decay foundation, but I think it would be perfect for maybe the MUA foundations or a tinted moisturiser or bb cream. Or another way id use it, is with cream blushes.

Blending Brush E3 MUA says: A blending brush for shaping your eye make up to perfection with pressed and loose eyeshadows. Its moulded shape is perfect for a soft colour application and blending a smokey eye look.
Ive only briefly used this, to do one eye make up, just to test it out, it does work perfectly well, but I dont know how well these brushes will wash, as they may shed a lot.

Eyeliner Brush E4 MUA says: a compact eyeliner brush for the handbag with a top. With a precise finely pointed brush with finished tapered tip, provides a controlled, ultra fine application of any powder, liquid or cream based eyeliners.
I love this brush it works well and I love the tip. But the downfall is the lid doesnt fit properly on the brush so i cant take it out with me.

These brushes vary in price but all of the brushes from MUA are between £1.50 and £5. Bargain prices of brushes. They are soft and they don't shed, or they haven't yet, but i expect that to happen once i wash them, but i do love them. You can buy them at the online webstore MUA have.

You me at six- Final Night Of Sin

Hey guys,

Its came to that time again... Where I have sadly been to the last gig I'm going to going to this year. Which is sad.

But I left the best to last as this gig had a trip to London included which I will blog about in another post this week.

From the title of this blog you can tell what gig I went to. Im glad that even though it was my final gig of 2012, it was also the final gig that You Me At Six  played for their album 'Sinners never sleep'. Which makes going from Edinburgh to London worth it.

This gig for me, has changed how I see You Me At Six gigs now. It was such a massive production they had for this one. Although some of it may have just been to look awesome, when the DVD comes out (as it was filmed). Just to name a few of the big production bits that happened were: flames, fireworks, glitter/confetti falling from the sky, streamers from the sky.

I must admit though, the show was incredible. The set list had enough old songs and songs from Sinners Never Sleep to keep everyone on their feet. They also played all of my favorite songs which was amazing for me. everyone who had something to do with the show in anyway, done a great job.
The band them self were absolutely faultless and I'm not just saying that as Dan Flint took his top off. But as a band they seemed a lot stronger and more in sync than the first time I seen them around 3 years ago.

The support acts were Deaf Havana and We Are The Ocean, I would comment on them but I hadn't listened to them before I seen them live.

I didn't get any decent pictures to share with you guys as I was sitting down, but I'm sure if you all buy the dvd for yourselves then you will be able to experience some of amazingness that went down in Wembley on Saturday the 8th.

bye for now guys

Yashin Glasgow 17/11/12

Hey Guys

Its back to this time again, where I reminisce of yet another gig I've been too.

Although this one I will admit out of the 3 support acts, I only seen 1 which is bad, but due to other life plans I couldn't get through to see every band play live. But hey that's life.

Im not sure what the name of the bands I missed were, so as I don't know their names I cant mention them or give them a review. So the only support I seen was a German band called We butter our bread with butter. Kind of a long name for a band but I don't pick the names of bands.

So as i arrived to the gig late the one plus side of it was not having to wait to get into the venue. But when I did get inside, We butter our bread with butter were just setting up so, I managed to get their full set, to get a good opinion on them. Which as a fan of music, I was a little bit confused as to which sort of music they play. As its between a screamo, dubstep with a hint of rock. I for one isnt one for both dubstep and a lot of screamo in the music, I just cant understand a word they say. Dubstep I can listen too, but it doesnt mean i would go and buy some dubstep tracks on itunes. That being said they got the crowd off their feet and moving.

So I was roughly 3 people away from the safety barrier when Yashin came on stage, which is amazing as to how late i was. As it was a homecrowd for the band, there was an amazing atmosphere when the lads came out on stage. Yashin a band from Glasgow consist of Kevin Miles, Paul Travers, Andy Mcshane, Dave Beaton and not forgetting the adorable Harry Radford who hails from Florida. The group had a new addition to the group as Lewis Millen had decided to leave the band before tour, so in his place is Connor MacLeod. The guys were amazing as always and got the crowd going crazy. As part of the crowd, I also took part in the Yashin 360, that Harry invented a few dates before the Glasgow show. The Yashin 360 is jumping on the spot and turn around as in a 360 degrees.
Harry has such a way with words and says many things beyond his years. Which to me is inspiring, before the song 'Stand up' he told the crowd who we had wrote the song for/about and then told the crowd 'that no matter how hard things get and how bad we feel, we always have Yashin to turn too and that the band was there for them no matter what!' Which to me means a lot as ive had a rough few weeks and they will continue to be fairly rocky for the foreseeable future, which kinda sucks. The song to me which has got me through so many dark hours recently is Runaway Train, especially the first verse that Harry sings
They also done a cover of Linkin Park's one step closer, which was incredible, they also have a video of them singing it, on their youtube.

here is a couple of my videos from the night.

Please beware that these videos are my own from the night and whilst being in the crowd the video is not the best quality. The first one i of 'Stand up' and the second one is of 'one step closer'

This just gives you a bit more of an insight of how amazing they are live, you all have to go see them play live. The music is insanely good, the boys themselves are such nice genuine lads who appreciate what the fans do for them, even more so than the groups and bands with a huge record label behind them. If you like what you hear and see on the videos please go and buy some of their music, it really does make the world of difference to the band.

Anyway guys, going to leave it there and insert some pictures of the night when i get a chance.

Bye

Halloween & bonfire's night 2012

Hey Guys...

Cant believe its past this time of year again. This year has gone by so quickly.
Hope everyone is well and had a good halloween and a safe bonfires night.

Im going to just jump right into this post and tell you what i done for them both.

On halloween, I was lucky enough to get some tickets to see Shinedown at the HMV Picturehouse in Edinburgh. The support acts were Exit Ten and Redlight King (Redlight King), before the gig I had never heard of either of these bands.
I never got to hear much of Exit Ten, as they had already started before I had got inside the venue. Which for me is weird as I got inside the venue around 10 minutes after the door opened. So I couldn't really accumulate a sense of what they are like as a band and what their music is like.
On the other hand though, I did kinda love Redlight King, first time hearing any of their songs and seeing them play live. I would go and see them again if the toured close enough to me.
Then the main act came on Shinedown, myself personally I don't think there were enough words to describe how intense the gig was, but it was so inspiring and motivating. I've never been to a gig that has done that before. Brent Smith does definitely has a way with words and his southern american voice easily got inside my head and spoke to me. They played a good mixture of their songs between the new album, Amaryllis and their earlier 3 albums.
They put both of favourite songs together on the setlist so I had quite a crazy 10 minutes, but totally worth it. I might put up the videos I got on to my youtube.
This is definitely one band i think everyone should see live. I will most definitely be seeing them live again, when they come back to the UK.

Bonfire Night

On bonfire night, I went to see some local display of fireworks, with family. My four year old nephew absolutely loved them and giggled all the way through the 35 minute display. They were beautiful and the location was is normally picturesque when in daylight, as its about 5 metres away from the local beach. There was definitely around 200+ people out to watch them. To make it better, they were free to watch. So that does make for a very happy Marion, Ha.

thanks guys

October Glossybox Review

Its this time of month again....

So after a few months of going AWOL, its back...

After I came home from a couple stressful meetings yesterday afternoon, I got cheered up, by the sight of the arrival of this months Glossybox.

Its back to its usual pale pink colour of box and its usual packaging, although the sticker, had a little bow on it, letting us know that Glossybox support breast cancer care.

This months theme as DIY Beauty and the little card says the items in the box can be used for an 'indulgent and cosy night in'.

The products this month is amazing for me personally. I love them all and think I will get at least some use out of all of them. The products are

ANATOMICALS- Don't just clean it woman, scrub it body scrub

This is a pink grapefruit scented body scrub, that comes in a 75ml sample. It smells amazing, firstly!! The little exfoliating bits, are a  good size and seem like it would definitely show a difference. As Ive not tried it properly I cant give a full review on it, but from the little bit I tried on my hand, I think it could do as good a job as Soap And Glory scrubs do.
The full size is 200ml and costs only £3.49.

Yves Rocher France- Instant anti-wrinkle moisturiser- Hydra Vegetal

This brand has been in Glossybox before but in the form of a mascara (which i really need to buy a full size of). I hope this product is just as brilliant as the mascara is, I have a lot of expectations for this. I'm slightly too young to be able to say if it does do, what it says. It says on the card that it instantly smooths wrinkles, I don't have any to test this on. But the cream itself, its luxurious moisturising and smells nice.
We got a full size product, which is 30ml and costs £18, so in fact with that one product, I'm getting my moneys worth. Yaaay

Skinetica Anti-Blemish

This is what it exactly says. You just put it on spots to get rid of them within 2-3 days. Its a unique solution for clearing skin of any blemishes, it has no side effects. I have tried this on a small spot I had on my chin yesterday, and today the spot is gone!! So I absolutely love this product, although a downside for me is the smell, its a strong chemical scent, but I shall put up with it.
For 100ml is £6.99, which isn't too bad.

Dr. Jart- Premium Beauty Balm

This cream is amazing, but not in my exact colour! Saying that the 15ml sample will be used by me somehow. It is a highly pigmented, it has an SPF of 40 i incorporated in it and firming agents, as this particular one is aimed to ages 30+ women.
It costs £24 for a 40ml tube, that you can buy at boots.

Sally Hansen- Complete Salon Manicure

This nail varnish has everything!!! I got a beautiful dark maroon colour, that is perfect for this season. It went opaque with 2 coats. It is also a five steps in one bottle!!! It has a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, colour and topcoat in one!! I adore this product, I've seen that there was other colour of polish in other boxes but I love mine.
Its a full sized product worth £6.99

This box has been one of my favourite one, ive had to date. It even beats the july box where i got my HD Brows kit. Everyone should subscribe to glossybox, its well worth it.

Bye guys

MUA Rave

So for a while now, I have been becoming slightly more and more obsessed with make up by the cheap and cheerful brand MUA.

I know most people have probably heard about at least one product by MUA in the recent months. If not, where have you been???

I must admit my collection on MUA products does not reflect my love for the brand, as I have a slight limited budget recently, I haven't been able to buy everything I'm lusting after.

Although recently I have bought a couple of their single eye shadows in a couple of colours I would never normally buy, but I have a look in my head that I want to do a look on and make a further blog on it.
But i also have their very affordable gel eyeliners. I have them in black and grey, I absolutely love these, I'm a sucker for eyeliner and always trying the new ones on the high street stores. I also have the undressed palette, which I use pretty much everyday. Best £4 i have ever spent on make up. I have also recently picked up one of the new cream blushes and one of the normal £1 blushes but in one of the newer colours.

Also another one of my favourites from this brand is their £2 extreme volume mascara I got a while ago, which is insanely amazing on my lashes and it doesn't blow the bank balance. One of the first products I ever got from MUA, along with my matte foundation I got for £2. The matte foundation gives a medium to high coverage and its buildable!! It goes on nice and creamy and blends in beautifully.

Another must have product from MUA for me is their £1 lipsticks that come in various colours of red, pink, nude and orange. The lipstick iself is a nice consisency and its creamy enough to go on smooth and it lasts a long time. Good quality for only £1. I'm a sucker for shade 3, thats a hot pink colour, I think it has a hint of blue undertones in it. But it suits my pale skin. Easy for a pop of colour, also amazing, if you just want to try a new colour of lip. The ones im lusting after is shade 1, shade 8, shade 10 and shade 13, these are the shades I most want for this current autumn season. They also have just recently brought out some lovely lip liners in red and pink tones.

A few of my most wanted items from MUA are the nail constellations in Leo, Libra and Scorpio (a nice christmassy blend of colours). The nail constellations are a high street and more affordable take on the Ciate Caviar Manicure, which i have never had as the price of it is insane for me. The MUA ones are a purse friendly £3, but the slight drawback is that you don't get a matching nail polish with it in a set, but you can always get an MUA nail varnish for £1 which is still a lot less than the Ciate version.

from l-r gemini, leo, pieces, scorpio and Libra
Another of my wishlist items are the mega volume mascara and the brow kit. Both of which I have seen getting some amazing reviews. I can not wait till i can have a splurge in MUA, hopefully soon, as they keep bringing out more products every month and I seem to want to try all of them.
The one thing I think would be amazing if they brought out, is a range of makeup brushes. One can hope that these are maybe in the pipeline.

You can buy the normal £1 products in most superdrugs, which normally include, some eyeshadows, lipsticks, eyeliners and some blush and face powder. Or if you go to the larger superdrugs, you can normally find a larger selection, but not always!! Or if you have no superdrugs near you, you can browse the whole range online (MUA store) They also ship internationally and if you like them on facebook (MUAmakeupacademy) and we get to 35k likes there will be a offer for cheaper make up or free delivery, also follow them on twitter for up to date updates on make and lots of fun things (muacosmetics)

Thanks for reading guys

Insurgent book Review. October book challenge

Veronica Roth, Divergent trilogy -Insurgent

So at the end of my second week in Book a week October, I have completed Insurgent finally.
I have mixed feelings about it, as there is lots of good points and bad points about the book. The majority of what i think is good, but i think it could have been better.
For the most part i enjoyed it, but i think it could have had less anti-climaxes in it towards the end of the book. It felt a little unfinished to me, there was no moment where i felt this is it. It was just one twist after another.
Although the final twist in the story is the main one and it was one i had already assumed would happen, once the character was introduced.
I did love it though, was my final opinion on the book, but its the one final twist, that has me itching for the final book in the series by Veronica Roth.
It carried on straight, where it left in the first book of the series 'Divergent' which is a book I love!!
This series i cant recommend it enough to people who are fans of the hunger games and books set in a futuristic world.

BLURB
"Tris has survived a brutal attack on her former home and family. But she has paid a terrible price. Wracked by grief and guilt, she becomes ever more reckless as she struggles to accept her new future.
Yet if Tris wants to uncover the truth about her world, she must be stronger  than ever... because more shocking choices and sacrifices lie ahead."

This week I will be reading Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. It is another futuristic novel. I seem to be into this genre of books to read recently.

Update on the October book challenge!

So last week I decided to do a book challenge and this is the first of a few updates on it.
Last week I read 'the perk of being a wallflower' by Simon Chbosky. It's not the longest of books but it is incredibly written.
I just couldn't put it down and read it within a couple of nights of reading it.
The story is a page turner as the story was a light but gripping story of a young lad Charlie who in the beginning is a shy and unpopular kid that you see grow by a series of letters to an anonymous reader. Throughout the story you get introduced to Charlie's friends and teacher. The story talks about Charlie being introvert and an unconventional thinker, who goes through therapy to help him with deal with these issues.
All in all I loved the book from cover to cover and I can't wait until I go see it at the cinema.
BLURB
" Charlie is a freshman. And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward he is a wallflwower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it. Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex drugs and the rocky horror picture show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But Charlie cant stay in the sideline forever, standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor."

Book geek! Oct edition

I've decided to challenge myself this month to read 4 books in 4 weeks. I must say I did get the idea from Carrie fletcher. So this is a little blog to say what books I will be reading this month a hopefully I will continue this new monthly post.
The first book I will read is 'perks of being a wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky.
Next is going to be 'Insurgent' by Veronica Roth, then 'Uglies' by Scott Westerfeld and lastly is the new book by J.K Rowling 'The casual vacancy'
I'm mostly excited to read J.K Rowling's new book as I've always been a huge Harry Potter fan and live her style of writing.
Hope you are all well and should this challenge.

Primark make up Hit or Miss

When I was in Primark the other day I noticed that they had some cheap make up, that I thought I would try.
They do have more than I currently have, but I didn't want to try all of it as some of it did look cheap and tacky. I have got some lipsticks and lip stains. I also have the eyeliner as I got recommended it, by a twitter friend.

Swatches of the lipstains in red and pinky/purple

The lip stains were the most expensive at £1.50 each and I got myself two colours as I got one and it was really nice and pigmented and lasted a long time. But the pinky purple one while it is pigmented, it doesn't last very long. But then again I cant really complain much as it was only £1.50 and you get what you pay for, Id give them a 6/10.

Swatches of the lipsticks
The lipsticks are £1 each, as some of you all know you can get amazing lipsticks for £1 by MUA, so I was excited by the fact that Primark had brought some out in my local store. I picked up the 3 shades of pink that they had in store to have a little shot with them as I really do need to get some new lipsticks but just don't have a lot of money to buy them. They do come out really pigmented when you swatch them on your hand but on the lips it takes a good few coats of them to show up properly on your lips. They are a lovely creamy consistency but they do dry your lips really badly, for that id give them a 6/10.
Swatch of the eyeliner

The eyeliner cost £1 for two eyeliner pencils and a sharpener, great for budget purposes but not so amazing for the waterline where I normally put kohl liner. But they do work well for the smudged liner look. They are highly pigmented and creamy for the price they are it shocked me. Id maybe give them about an 5/10.

All in all i think the Primark beauty brand is a good idea for those maybe just starting with make up, or a teenager who is a bit clumsy or messy and loses things easily. Its purse friendly but I wouldn't go out my way to buy the things again.

Cya later guys.

FOTD & OOTD

So as its a lovely sunny day, for a change in Scotland, i decide to do both an OOFTD and a FOTD.
Its exactly a week before my birthday and the sun decides to shine, which can only mean its going to rain on my birthday.

So the final look I went for is a smudged kohl eye and a pink lips. I used a primer and  foundation by MUA, ELF concealer, soap and glory eyebrow pencil,  my eyeliner is from Topshop make up, mascara is from 17 wild curls mascara, lemon aid eye primer and cha cha tint (blush) by Benefit and my revlon lipbutter in lollipop.

My outfit is just a plain white vest top tucked into a mint green skirt with a pink belt accent. I was also had on a pair of black sandels and a navy military style jacket.
Think most of the outfit is from Primark and new look.

Cya later guys

Jolie Box July

Its this time of the month again when all the beauty boxes land on the door step.

The Jolie Box arrived early this morning.
The box has some interesting things in it for me to have a go at and try and hopefully blog about them.
First thing i noticed it was back to the plain black box exterior and the normal black little bag inside. Of which i must be the only one who hasn't found a use for them yet.

The first product i noticed when i looked inside the bag, was the  NailGirls mini nail polishes, they are from the  Medal collection that's inspired by the Olympics. I got the shades, gold and bronze. There is also a silver shade in the collection.

The next product I got is the Etat Pur Biomimetic skincare B09- Express purifying mask. Its a French brand of skincare products and I got the mask. The other thing I could have got instead of the mask is the Pur Active A22-Salicylic Acid 300, which helps heal spots and blemished skin. I would have preferred that but I'm still happy I got the face mask, as I need to find one that helps my skin that can get very bad breakouts.

The next product i received is the Wen By Caz Dean sweet almond and mint cleansing conditioner. This is a multi purpose use conditioner, you can use it on your hair like a normal conditioner, use it as a deep conditioner and a leave in conditioner at the ends of your hair. It smells amazing and I cant wait to use it!!

The product I'm most disappointed in this month is the Jane Iradale Tantasia self tanner. Myself personally look stupid with most fake tans, as they go too dark, or they streak and go orange. My skin tone is very pale with a lot of freckles, I also have the ginger hair, so i have the Celtic look, so fake tan is a big no no for me, unless i have dyed my hair brown or blonde, both of which i haven't done for some time now.

This month after the late arrival of the June boxes, we have a special extra gift this month.
I got the essential care organic rose moisturiser, this smells absolutely lush!! I'm in love with the smell of this, to me it smells like Turkish delight. Its for all skin types, its also free from all the nasty stuff that can be found in moisturisers/skin care.
We also got a little jolie box toe separator thing in the box too, along with the july edition of the joliemag.

Anyways I'm off to enjoy some of the sunshine :)

Marion Loves

I'm going to start doing a mini series of the things I love. Its going to include websites, book, outfits, make up, nail art, bloggers, youtubers, pretty much anything and everything I can think of. I'm going to do a love of the day as well, as doing an in depth loves of certain things.
Today's love is.... TV Channel

As Ive been busy the past few weeks, I've really missed a lot of my favourite programmes on TV. That I'm going to have to catch up with online. But there is always one TV channel i always find myself turning on to when i have a spare 30 minutes. It also shows another one of my passions very well. I always find myself watching Food Network, as I love everything to do with cooking. I would love to have my own restaurant, eventually one day. But i think for now I would settle for my own baking business. I always talk about it with a friend.
Food Network is on Sky channel 262, it has every sort of cooking under the sun, from Mexican to British food recipes being shown. It also has diet food recipes, there is also a web page where you can get these recipes on food network (UK) and food network (rest of the world).
As I'm typing this up i have it on and watching 'Guys Big Bite' They have mainly all the new programmes on at night and repeats of things during the day, but i have never really seen the same thing twice.
So Food Network is my love of the day :)

Peace
M
